Vacant Souls

Vacant souls wait for the travelling hearts
To settle where they’re tired
Walking doesn’t seem so bad until you haven’t stopped for a long long while
Maybe it’s the shoes or maybe it’s the ground below
It better give me something more than painful feet to show for it
Famished you will walk along until you reach a bush
Bearing fruit that well fed eyes
Would seldom be so quick to touch and fill their tongue
Sweet at first to taste and sight but certain as your breath
Deception is an age old lie that makes you underestimate the rest
Search for the necessity not what is just a plea
What you want can be misleading from the things you really need
At the stream you see that water seems to be the purest thing
Just walk a little further and receive it from the spring
Vacant souls wait for the travelling hearts to settle down
Time will have it’s way with you, will drive you through the ground
Truth will reign, remember pain and to
Never let the letters win what character should mean inside your name
Discretions that we take keep letters that we hold from looking all the same
Vacant souls wait for the traveling hearts

Gentle Hands
03:45
|
|||
Have you lost your way?
Have the demons you’ve been fighting throw the key to joy away
Where have you gone?
Come back, into my arms
If the skies begin to moan
Know you’ve never been alone
Have they told you just bear the storm?
Sometimes you can’t when it goes forever on.
Please lie down and take a breath
Things you cannot understand
are weighted heavy on your head
Come to me, I’ll ease the strain upon your neck
With a gentle hand and carefulness
Hope should never seem so far
Gain your footing, don’t know just how close you are
Where is your home?
Trying to figure out, where you belong
Keep on fighting you’re still young
Should the battle take the wind inside your lungs
I will follow the all shadows that you’ve strung
Fall into me, when you feel that you are done
Please lie down and take a breath
Things you cannot understand
are weighted heavy on your head
Come to me, I’ll ease the strain upon your neck
With a gentle hand and carefulness
Please lie down and take a breath
Things you cannot understand
are weighted heavy on your head
Come to me, I’ll ease the strain upon your neck
With a gentle hand and carefulness

Days Like This

Days like this
Where bad things leave and there’s just happiness
And times like these
Are glimpses into our eternity
Its as if the world has stopped to let you see what it has made
You see life inside the trees, you feel the crashing of a wave
Perfect green, perfect blue
Color never felt so true
Beyond a shadow of a doubt
All things are right.
What has allowed our views to change,
So that our eyes adjust at once to see this light?
Days like this
When good things leave, you can’t find happiness
And times like these
Show us the flip side of eternity
Its as if the world has stopped to let you see what you’ve destroyed
Life is barren in your eyes and in your heart there is a void
Blurry lines make up the borders for you
Certainty has left
The wave becomes too big to handle
And the leaves become a mess
Why did this happen
We need these times to show us exactly what we’re missing
So that we can see the beauty out here every time it glistens
If perpetuating seasons all just melted into one
If there never was a cloudy day, you’d start to hate the sun
Dried up earth
Sometimes we need the rain to come
so we appreciate the worth
There are things
That never fit inside of sanity
And some bird’s wings
Aren’t meant to fly but they’re still here, you see
There are reasons for the unexplained
The paths that lie ahead remain
In front of us so make your choices count
There isn’t anybody here
Who should be able surround you with their doubt
Torn up shoes
Don’t make the man, just ache the feet inside
And rusted pipes
Just cause the thirsty to refuse desire
Nobel hands will fall when they feel threatened
Threats beget the threats that shake them
Turbulences hardly stem from love
What are we here for?
Where are the people who can see, that hate causes austerity
Austerity is hostile action’s fuel
Proving points are only games
Won’t make the world a better place
Won’t ever send the lion to the sea
Slow your speech
Sometimes we need to hold our tongue
So we can learn to keep the peace
